We woke up to beautiful snow on the ground this morning. After breakfast we all piled on the clothes & headed out to enjoy the fun. Caden had really never played in the snow because he had so many ear infections when he was younger. We had a great time building a snow man, making snow angels and gathering snow for snow ice cream! YUM!

Choking
Just had the scariest moment of my life......Caden CHOKED on a piece of candy right in front of me! He walked in to the living room & said "Mom I have candy!" The next moment he's sucked it right down his throat! I thought he would cough it up but then his face started turning red. I tried the Heimlich 4 times but it didn't work so I finally just stuck my finger down his throat! I GOT IT!!! Poor baby then he threw up 5 times because of the Heimlich. He said "Mom I didn't like that." Wow scary! I cried on and off for hours. Never dreamed that would happen to me.

Apology
Caden had been being bad all day & when it came time for a nap he informed me that he didn't need one. Well after being woke up after two hours apparently he did. At bathtime, he came up & hugged me & said, "Mom, I'm sorry I wasn't listening to you before my nap." AWWW SWEET.

The DROMAGIC Showoff!
Caden's been on a roll today. He & Wryan were "play" arguing this morning and after a smart remark from Wryan, Caden looked at me and said, "Mom, my Dad's kind of a show off!"
Now tonight I was talking to my mom on the phone and was telling her that one of the teachers at daycare had said he was dramatic. Apparently he was eavesdropping and said, "I am not DROMAGIC!"

Two Papa Dana's
We were getting out of the car & Caden noticed that the moon was really bright. He says, "Mom it's a really nice night. I should ride my horse." I told him that when Papa Dana was a boy,he rode his horse at night. He replied, "When I grow up, I'm going to be Papa Dana's & then there will be TWO Papa Dana's." He's got it all figured out!

Eye Injury
In the bathtub, Caden says "Mom my eye is burning. I think I have an injury." Heehee, how many three year olds know what an injury is?
Hot sleeved shirt!
When we were getting out of the car to come in the house, I told Caden to get his coat on so he wouldn't get cold. His reply was, "Mom, I have on my HOT Sleeved shirt on so I won't get cold."

Last night I was in the shower with my hair full of shampoo, when Caden ran in saying he had to go to the bathroom. Only so much I could do from the shower so I started giving him directions. Long story short, he did it all by himself! I bragged on him & told him that I was very proud of him. He replied, "I'm proud of you too Mom. You did a good job washing your hair!"

Winter Playday
Caden & I decided that we couldn't stay inside any longer, so when I went to feed we bundled up to play for a few minutes. While I fed he played on his swingset and then Bandit had to get in on the action so they played ball for awhile. I love living where I can have horses again just wish someone else would feed them when it's cold!

Caden's First Trip to the Movie Theater
Today was the coldest day we've had in long time with a wind chill in the morning of -13 so since we needed to do something inside, tonight we took Caden to the movies for the first time. Alvin & the Chipmunks: The Squeakquel was his first movie to ever be watched in a theater. Of course we had to have the whole movie experience with popcorn and candy. Caden did a good job staying quiet & a good time was had by all.

Caden's New Horse
Caden has been very interested in being a cowboy and John Wayne ever since we stayed with my Dad (Papa Dana) over Thanksgiving. He and my dad watched alot of John Wayne movies during that time and since then he says "When I grow up I'm going to be John Wayne." Sometimes it's a doctor and John Wayne but always John Wayne.
So if you're John Wayne, you have to have a horse. Caden has been making comments about needing a horse to be John Wayne. Such as "When I grow up, I'm going to be John Wayne and I'll ride my horse and Bandit (mom's dog) will be my dog. Well Wryan and I just happened to be looking on Craig's list and saw a little bay pony in Muskogee. The pictures posted showed a little girl about 5 standing on it's back so it looked pretty calm. Caden said he wanted a horse just like mom's but smaller and she was exactly the same color.
Unfortunately being "John Wayne" has given it's fair share of trouble at school. Caden was in trouble for hitting kids a couple of weeks ago and when I asked why he was hitting he said "Mom, John Wayne punches the bad guys." I told him that wasn't very nice. He replied, "Mom, those kids were being bad." He also poked a boy in the eye with a toy drill because it was a "gun."

We loaded up and heade
d to Muskogee Sunday morning. It was cold in Poteau but on our way to Muskogee it started to snow! When we got there, it was so cold that Caden didn't want to ride her but after seeing her and the lady telling us that she had used her at Special Ed. Camp we thought she might work out so we loaded up "Lady" as we were told was her name and headed home. On the way home, Caden said, "Mom, I didn't get to stand up on her."
Now Caden had already told us that he was going to name her "Bullet" but after calling Papa Dana to tell him about our purchase, she was renamed again. Papa told him that in some of John Wayne's movies he rode a horse named "Bo", so poor "Lady" went from "Bullet" to "Bo" all in one day.
We made several circles in the yard and Caden made his picture "standing up on Bo."
